Goats & Tigers ("the app") is a board game that can be played on your own, against another person on the same device, or online against other players. This privacy policy explains what data the app does and does not collect in each of those cases.
If you only play offline - against the computer or with someone on the same device - the app collects, stores and transmits nothing. All game state (board type, moves, scores) stays on your device. No account is required and no data leaves the app.
Online play is entirely optional and only becomes active if you choose to sign in. If you do, the app collects and stores:
Your nickname is chosen by you and is the only name shown to other players. It is not taken from your Google account.
This account data is used only to run matches and leaderboards - it is never sold, and it is not shared with the advertising partner described below.
The app uses Google AdMob to show two specific, optional ad formats: a rewarded video you can choose to watch for an in-game hint while playing solo against the computer, and an occasional interstitial ad after a match ends. Neither ad ever appears during online multiplayer, and no ad is ever shown without you having taken an action first (there are no automatically-popping ads).
Where required by law (for example, in the EEA and UK), the app asks for your consent before requesting personalized ads, using Google's User Messaging Platform. If you decline or consent isn't required in your region, only non-personalized ads are requested. AdMob may use your device's advertising identifier and general device information to select and measure ads; this is separate from, and never linked to, your Google Sign-In account or match data above. You can review or change your choice at any time from Privacy options in the app's menu.
The app requests the Android INTERNET permission. It is unused during offline
play except when the optional hint/ad features above are used, and used to reach the game
server when you play online.
The app contains no analytics SDKs. It relies on four service providers: Google Sign-In for authentication, Supabase for storing accounts, matches and leaderboards, Firebase Cloud Messaging for delivering turn notifications, and Google AdMob for the ad formats described above. Data is only shared with them to the extent needed to provide that part of the app.
You can request deletion of your online account and its associated match history and leaderboard entries via the contact link below, and it will be removed. Deleting the app alone does not remove server-side data.
The app is not directed at children under 13, and no online account should be created by one. Offline play collects no data of any kind from anyone. Ads are only ever requested as non-personalized where required for a user known to be a child.
If this policy ever changes (for example, if a future update adds online features), this page will be updated accordingly.
